Building a Wellness Team

There’s a book I read last year called “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill that I would highly recommend reading.  It was written in 1925 and was based on Hill’s work and interviews with Andrew Carnegie.  The concepts in the book regarding “wealth” and “success” can really be applied to any area of your life, health included.

There is one idea called the “Mastermind Group” in the book that I really liked.  Your “Mastermind” is the group of people that help guide you in the right direction.  You can go to your “Mastermind” when you have a problem or question and they help you figure it out.  They give you advice that you trust and that you know will work because they are already successful in the field that they are helping you in.

In my Health Mastermind I have 3 chiropractors, 3 acupuncturists, 2 massage therapists, 2 trainers, and a midwife.  So far this circle of associates has kept me and my family pain-free, fit, off the surgery table, and out of the hospital!

Who is in your mastermind?

What to look for in creating your mastermind group:

  • Someone who lives the life you want to live (kind of like “don’t trust a skinny cook…” or “don’t go to a fat weight loss consultant!”)
  • Someone who helps you get results.   It’s simple:  when you take their advice, it works.
  • Someone you like to be around.  Communication can only flourish when there is “liking.”

You can only expect results when you put in some action!  I want to know –  put in a comment below – who are 3 people in your Mastermind?
