Qi stagnation in TCM is related to blood circulation and stress. Stress alone can cause Qi stagnation, which is when you’re stuck in a particular emotional cycle.
To undo Qi stagnation, make sure you’re eating enough nourishing foods. Vegans may find they need a little more blood-building foods (like leafy greens, eggs, or broth) or herbs such as Dang Gui. Stress-and-tension-relieving herbs like Skullcap or Chamomile are easy to use as well. Trace minerals like those found in Sea Salt or Seaweed are helpful for relaxation.
Exercise regularly, even if it’s just more walking or stretching. Make sleep a priority. See a counselor or get acupuncture for the stress. Black current seed oil may help with PMS tension.
